Pesto Prosciutto Pizza

 Cook time: 20 minutes

 Ingredients:

  • 1 pizza dough of choice (about 10-12 inches in diameter, options include fresh pizza dough, lavash bread, cauliflower crust, etc.)
  • 3 tbsp Besto (for spreading across the pizza)
  • 2 medium Tomatoes (sliced thinly, about 1/8-inch thick)
  • 8 oz Fresh Mozzarella (sliced or shredded)
  • 3 oz Prosciutto (about 6-8 thin slices)
  • 1/4 cup Fresh Basil Leaves (for garnish)
  • 2 tbsp Grated Parmesan Cheese (for garnish)

Directions:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).

  2. Prepare the dough: Roll out your dough of choice to about 10-12 inches in diameter. Place it on a baking tray lined with parchment paper or a baking stone.

  3. Spread the Besto: Using a spoon or brush, spread 3 tablespoons of Besto evenly across the entire surface of the dough, leaving a small border around the edges for the crust.

  4. Top with tomatoes: Thinly slice the 2 tomatoes (about 1/8-inch thick) and layer them evenly over the Besto-covered dough.

  5. Add mozzarella: Evenly distribute 8 ounces of fresh mozzarella slices or shredded mozzarella over the tomatoes.

  6. Add prosciutto: Tear 3 ounces of prosciutto into smaller pieces and arrange them on top of the mozzarella.

  7. Bake the pizza: Place the pizza in the oven and bake for 10-12 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is melted and bubbly. For an extra crispy finish, you can broil the pizza for an additional 1-2 minutes, watching closely to avoid burning.

  8. Garnish and serve: Once baked, remove the pizza from the oven. Garnish with 1/4 cup of fresh basil leaves and a generous sprinkle of 2 tablespoons of grated Parmesan cheese.

  9. Enjoy: Slice, serve, and enjoy your delicious, homemade pizza!
