Besto Joins Pop-Up Grocer at SXSW: A Full-Circle Moment in Austin

We’re beyond excited to announce that Besto is one of the selected brands featured at Pop-Up Grocer's SXSW showcase in Austin, Texas, from March 7th to April 14th! Pop-Up Grocer, known for bringing a slice of West Village to the heart of Texas, has created the perfect platform for us to share Besto with our Austin community.

For me, this is a full-circle moment. Before making my way to New York, I spent two transformative years in Austin after college. The city’s vibrant, health-conscious food scene left a lasting impact on me and deeply influenced the creation of Besto. Austin was where I first encountered the "no seed oils" philosophy. I vividly remember discovering food trucks around the city that proudly cooked only with extra virgin olive oil. It was eye-opening—this idea that food could be delicious, sustainable, and free from processed oils.

Austin’s dynamic food culture—blending a variety of cuisines, cultures, and ingredients—continually pushed me to explore new ways of thinking about food. From my time spent on boats at Lake Travis to post-lake trips where we’d stop by our favorite seed-oil-free food truck, Ziki, these experiences gradually shaped the ethos behind Besto. Little did I know, those moments would pave the way for the "no seed oils" movement in our pesto.

Looking back, it’s incredible how places, people, and experiences shape our journey. Austin’s influence is deeply woven into the fabric of Besto, and to be able to share it with the city that inspired it all feels like a dream come true. We’re so thrilled to be part of this exciting SXSW moment and can’t wait to continue sharing our passion for pure, seed-oil-free pesto with all of you.
